2. The real case (upon which the movie is based on) dragged on for more than ten years in real life though it has been shown as, approximately, about a year long in this movie.
3. The real Rajakannu case (based on which the movie is made) was the longest habeas corpus case in the history of Chennai High Court, Tamil Nadu, India!
4. After the film's release actor Surya received many death threats from various communities in India. Various communities criticised that actor/producer Surya had deliberately manipulated the real events in his film, in view of making a clash between "Vanniyars" and "Irulars" communities. After receiving death threats, Surya was provided special police protection at his residence.
